Jackie Comisar, MFT is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but has called Columbus home for over 15 years. She has a BFA from the University of Michigan and a Masters Degree in Couple and Family Therapy from The Ohio State University.
Jackie provides services for individual adults, couples, families and children employing a strength-based systemic approach that recognizes our inherent value and unique resources. Jackie’s perspective is humanistic and collaborative with a strong belief in our ability to change through choice and learning. Her experiential approach engages clients in an active way, facilitating a deeper understanding of emotions, behaviors, thoughts and relational patterns. Jackie’s warmth and expertise in cultivating a secure therapeutic relationship ensures the therapy room is a safe and brave space for clients to explore and develop their authentic selves. She works with clients to form client driven goals and is mindful of client needs and feedback throughout the therapeutic process.
Jackie’s past clinical experience includes both private practice and community healthcare settings. Her scope of practice includes anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, parent-child relationship issues, relationship concerns, infidelity, life transitions, and loss and grief. Jackie also has experience in working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA couples and individuals. She has a passion for inclusivity and cultural humility.
Jackie is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists.
